Work Permit Categories:

The work permit categories for foreign nationals are in three categories:

  1. Bachelor’s degree holders

Golden Visa:

This visa was introduced as long-term residence visas which are offered to foreign nationals without them needing a national sponsor or a business ownership.

Duration: 5 or 10 years

Automatic Renewal

Investor Visa:

Investment of AED 10 million or more in various forms

Options:

  • Depositing AED 10 million in an investment fund
  • Establishing a company with a capital of AED 10 million 
  • Partnering in a company with a share value of AED 10 million 

For the investor to get a 10 year visa, they must issue under following criteria:

  • The investment must not be loaned
  • Retained for 3 years
  • Financial Solvency of AED 10 million 

Business or Entrepreneur Visa:

This visa is issued to entrepreneurs who have majority shareholders or senior leaders in startups.

  • Required entrepreneurial experience, relocate to the UAE and have a business plan or idea.
  • The are nominated by the UAE government

Duration after eligibility check:

5 years with the option to sponsor dependents 

Specialised Talents:

This visa is issued for scientists, inventors, artists and executives and requires accreditation or are recognized in their respective field.

Duration: 10 years with an employment contract 

Outstanding Students:

This visa is issued for exceptional secondary school or university students with a minimum grade or GPA (Requirements applied)

Duration: 5 years

Naturalised Citizenship 

This visa is eligible after continuous and legal residency in the UAE for 30 years. They are required to have proficiency in the Arabic language, legal employment and a good character.

Dual citizenship is now permitted.
