Modules

During the MSc in Strategic Marketing (Online Top-up), students will be tasked with understanding a company’s place in the world of marketing, along with ethical questions of marketing’s place in society.

Students will assess how clients, both B2B and B2C, behave when searching for products and services. Further, students will look at how research and analysis form the basis for finding clients. In addition, they will consider various methods of marketing (for example content, social, search) and assess which delivers the best value for different scenarios.

The course includes key topics such as gauging and analysing success, and using data to improve results. Students will look at how brand value impacts performance, and the steps firms can take to align public perception with company values. In addition, students will explore the moral issues around influencing consumers.

Finally, students will work with tutors to develop a research project that supports their career goals in the Consultancy Project Report.

Study Options

The MSc in Strategic Marketing is available as a full, 180-credit master’s, and a top-up master’s.

Students with a relevant level 7 qualification can join the top-up master’s. For this reason, these students only need to finish the 60-credit thesis module (Consultancy Report Project) to graduate. 

Students with BA/BSc degrees (or equivalent) will join the full MSc degree. This includes 7 modules of study (listed above).

To complete the full master’s degree, students need 180 credits from the seven modules; this totals 1200 hours of learning.

To complete the top-up master’s degree, students need 60 credits from the Consultancy Project Report module.

Students can study our online MSc in Strategic Marketing part-time or full-time. Students can continue to work while completing their degree at King’s as we deliver the course online.

Those enrolling on the full MSc programme can study and pay on a module-by-module basis.

Online Learning — How Does it Work?

All sessions with King’s are held on our VLE. As a result, students can access classes at their comfort via King’s cloud campus.

Course content is available for on-demand viewing. In addition, students can also organise sessions with their tutors to fit around their work/home commitments.

Entry Requirements

Top-up Entry Route

For entry to the MSc in Strategic Marketing Top-up, students must have a relevant level 7 diploma. For example, the OTHM Level 7 Diploma in Strategic Marketing. Other relevant level-7 qualifications are also considered.

Full MSc Strategic Marketing Entry Route

To join the full MSc, students must have a BA/BSc degree (or equivalent). Other level-6 qualifications are also considered for entry.
