Level 7 Diploma
A level 7 diploma offers an alternative to gaining a master’s degree. The process is shorter compared to a master’s degree but includes many of the same topics.
The best way to succinctly describe a level 7 diploma is as a bridge between a level 6 diploma or undergraduate degree and a full master’s degree.
This is one of the OTHM qualifications, and as such, it follows the Regulated Qualification Framework. It is important to choose a university that is OTHM approved for your diploma to be valid.
Completing this diploma will typically take one year if you study full-time or two years if you study part-time.

A Level 7 Diploma Vs. a Full Masters or MBA
The biggest difference between a level 7 diploma and a full master’s degree is the amount of time that it takes to complete each. Level 7 diplomas only require 120 credits.
If you choose to pursue a masters’ or MBA afterward, you will have to complete 60 credits of a dissertation stage with a university.
What to Do After Receiving a Level 7 Diploma ?
You do not need to do anything after receiving a level 7 diploma. Many employers will see this additional diploma as an advantage, without any need to pursue a master’s degree.
The diploma acknowledges that you have continued your education and gained new skills. It is a way of showing your commitment to knowledge and advancing yourself without completing a full master’s program.
Potential employers know that to receive the diploma, you must have demonstrated your skills. They recognize that the only difference between this diploma and a full master’s is the lack of a dissertation. For many employers, that is not a meaningful difference.
You also have the option to complete your dissertation and receive a full master’s degree after getting your level 7 diploma. Many students choose to complete the two as separate steps as this provides more freedom.
Completing the two separately gives you the benefit of time. You can wait until you feel ready to complete your dissertation. However, you can still hone and use your skills in the meantime.
Level 7 Diplomas at King’s Business School
